Johan Bygge has held key positions in major companies such as Ericsson, Electrolux, Investor AB, and EQT. He is a sought-after lecturer and speaker on a wide range of topics.
Johan Bygge graduated in 1981 from the Stockholm School of Economics (Handelshögskolan). After working at Arthur Andersen, he was recruited to Ericsson to design and implement a new financial management system including IT, manuals, principles, and training. There he became deputy Group Controller and later Deputy Treasurer.
He joined Electrolux in 1987 as Corporate Controller, which then stepwise developed into the Global CFO position. Electrolux is a Swedish multinational home appliance manufacturer, a multi-billion dollar company, and the world's second-largest appliance maker.
He became part of the Group Management team in 1997. In 2001 he became the CEO of Consumer Outdoor products, including the Husqvarna brand. He later became the CEO of Electrolux Major Appliance Europe and the Asia Pacific, responsible for over 35,000 employees.
During this time, Johan has managed and been part of many acquisitions, divestments and also served as a trouble-shooter in countries where the Electrolux Group experienced challenges. Moving manufacturing from high to low-cost countries and consolidating sales under the brand Electrolux formed an essential part of the agenda. He also transformed the European organization from "multi-local" to a European organization. Recruiting and developing talent has been an essential part of the agenda.
Johan Bygge worked within Investor AB between 2007 and 2011 as Chief Financial Officer CFO and a member of the Management Group. Johan joined EQT in 2011 and was the Chief Operating Officer of the company between 2011 and 2016. The challenge was to create and build a modern, professional organization able to handle new regulatory, investor, owner, and fiscal demands during a strong growth phase. Preparing EQT for the recent listing. EQT is today Europe's largest PE firm. He later held the position as Chairman of EQT Asia Pacific. Johan has in parallel with his COO role, and his Chairman role within EQT always served as a Senior Industrial Advisor and has held positions on various portfolio company Boards within EQT. The last 3 years, Johan was based in Hong Kong.
Nowadays, Johan is a chairman and board member and advisor to many different organizations. He is also a mentor and sought after as an expert and lecturer both in Sweden and internationally. He talks about leadership, innovation, change management, finance, international business, and related topics.
