Moved to Newcastle in May 1984 for £100,000
Made England debut against Wales in Cardiff at the age of 22 in 1972
Won 63 caps scoring 21 goals
Played the last game for England at World Cup in 1982
Management Career To Date
Had seven years out of football in Spain prior to agreeing to join Newcastle United in Feb 92
Newcastle were promoted as champions in 92/93 with a record number of points and because of their style of football became known as the entertainers
Joined Fulham FC in Sept 98 who were the 18th in the second division
In first year in charge as manager won the second division championship with a record number of points
Approached by the FA to manage England Part Time until July 1999 with the objective being to qualify for EURO 2000
England subsequently qualified and agreed to take up position full time in May 1999
